W+K NY Ads Promote New In-Flight Messaging Services

Delta is now letting passengers send instant messages while in-flight, and to spread the word, it’s created a series of short, funny ads about texting “from above.”

Created by Wieden+Kennedy New York, the 10-second films see people on the ground receiving messages from people who descend from “above,” upside down, to relay their greetings. There’s a girlfriend who doesn’t look too sure about a message of love from her boyfriend, a son interrupting his mom’s card game to complain that his ears are blocked, and, seen here, a random guy from a bar who hilariously got the wrong number .

The ads, directed by Fatal Farm via Gifted Youth, are running on Snapchat and digital now throughout the end of the year. Delta’s free in-flight messaging is being offered across all Gogo-enabled planes.
